AUGUST 2010
If there were words to
describe the weather in the mountains of East Tennessee for the
past thirty days, there are only two that would be sufficient
and adequate to do the job; “Hot” and “Dry.” We have had very
little rain and the temperature has hovered around the 100
degree mark for the last two weeks. It is weather like this that
makes it difficult for me to get started cutting firewood for
this winter. The dry weather has taken its toll on our small
garden. In spite of the dry physical conditions, we have enjoyed
several refreshing spiritual showers in our services. What a
blessing to know that we can claim the promises of the
refreshing water that comes down from above, “For I will pour
water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground:
I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine
offspring: And they shall spring up as among the grass, as
willows by the water courses” (Isaiah 44:3-4).
